A Career & Calling
I have worked with children and families for over half of my life and I truly believe it is my calling. At just 15 years old, I started a babysitting business with the encouragement of my mother. At 17, my love of children deepened and my desire to work with families grew tremendously. In college, I studied Elementary Education & Early Childhood Education with prospects to become an educator locally. While I did not pursue teaching in the traditional sense, I continued to gain childcare leadership while serving in various positions at child care centers and eventually became a Career Nanny. After the birth of my son, like most mothers, something shifted for me and I wanted to truly walk in my purpose. Supporting families was now my ministry. With all that I had learned and experienced in my life and career, it was time to move into a new phase personally and professionally. Learning about doulas and fourth-trimester care renewed my passion to help new families thrive and existing families have a smooth adjustment period with their new additions. I became a doula to continue to help children and families in a much more personal and fulfilling way. After becoming a mother and helping my friends and family with various aspects of their family life, I knew that this was the right path for me.
As a doula, I am always humbled and excited to share all of my knowledge & experience. There is something so fulfilling about helping parents embrace their instincts and find their way in the glorious world of parenthood.
